Is Nitrogen Better than Air in Car Tyres

Is Nitrogen Better than Air in Car Tyres?

Air is 78 percent nitrogen, just under 21 percent oxygen, and the rest is water vapor, CO2 and small concentrations of noble gases such as neon and argon. We can ignore the other gases. There are several compelling reasons to use pure nitrogen in tires:-

1) Nitrogen is less likely to migrate through tire rubber than is oxygen, which means that your tire pressures will remain more stable over the long term.
Racers figured out pretty quickly that tires filled with nitrogen rather than air also exhibit less pressure change with temperature swings. That means more consistent inflation pressures during a race as the tires heat up. And when you're tweaking a race car's handling with half-psi changes, that's important.

Carburetor

Carburetor:-

A carburetor or carburettor is a device
that blends air and fuel for an internal combustion engine. It is sometimes, but not always, shortened to "Carb" in North America and the United Kingdom. The carburetor works on Bernoulli's principle: the faster air moves, the lower its static pressure, and the higher its dynamic pressure. The throttle (accelerator) linkage does not directly
control the flow of liquid fuel. Instead, it actuates carburetor mechanisms which meter the flow of air being pulled

Water Turbines

Development: Why Water Turbines are developed?

In very ancient days water wheels were developed to convert hydraulic energy into mechanical energy. Basically these water wheels are useful to lift water from well for irrigation purpose. Due to its very slow moving speed, water wheels arenot suitable for all types of purposes. Moreover, the hydro power was available mostly in rural and mountainous regions. It was necessary to install mills which are run by water wheels near to the power stations. The main disadvantage of this system was to run prime movers round the clock, even if some of the machines in the mills may remain idle.

Internal Combustion Engine

Cooling: Why Cooling is required in Internal Combustion Engine?

In Automobile engineering, to get the work done from internal combustion engine, we have to burn air-fuel mixture inside the cylinder. When the combustion of air-fuel mixture takes place in the engine cylinder, a temperature as high as 2500 degree centigrade is reached. To withstand such a high temperature we have to use very high melting point material for construction of engine.

Types of Air Compressor

Compressor: Types of Air Compressor

The two main classification of Air Compressor are.
01) Positive Displacement Type.
02) Dynamic Type.

You will find details of each type from below description.

01) Positive Displacement Air Compressors.
Positive displacement types compressor are those who mechanically displace a fixed volume of air into a reduced volume. Compressor when operated at fixed speed can deliver the constant volume. The discharge pressure is determined by the system load conditions. If the consumption of air ismore then discharge pressure falls below the cut-off pressure & compressor works on load condition.
These types of Air Compressor further classified as

Compressor:How to Store Air Compressor

Compressor:

 How to Store Air Compressor?

In engineering units, store is the place where machines and spare parts are stored. Actually air compressor is not a machine to keep in store but due to some reasons it requires to be storage for some time. Any air compressor, which is not in service, whether it is installed or not, the unpainted Compressor surface are subjected to Rust and Corrosion. If this occurs to you, you have to take care of that air compressor up to commissioning. However every Compressor going out of factory is always processed with Rust Preventive Oil. This Rust Preventive Oil will work better up to one month and if your requirement is more than this period then you should have to take extra preventive steps.
